GOD's ultimate love

E-mail Print PDF

As we celebrate Valentine’s Day; a holiday that is supposed to symbolize our love for those we care about; there is one true and ultimate symbol of love that we must keep in mind not just on Valentine’s Day, but every day of our lives here on earth.  This is the love that God showed mankind when his son, Jesus Christ was born on earth, lived among us, and died at the hands of men to pay for ALL OUR SINS.  Thanks to His sacrifice here on earth, Jesus ensured our ability to have everlasting life in heaven.  This can only be done when you honestly and truthfully accept Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior.  Once your name is written in His book of life, it will not be erased, and upon judgment day, Jesus will be able to say to His father, “I know this person, and I welcome you home.”  Otherwise, He has no choice but to say, “Depart from me, for I never knew you.”  How do you get your name in His book?  Simple, YOU MUST BELIEVE in your heart that Jesus died on the cross for YOUR SINS, believe that He was buried and on the third day He rose again.  Confess that you are a sinner and ask for His forgiveness.  This may seem to be too simple for salvation, but it is often the hardest thing you may ever do, but it is a choice I enourage you to make.  If you need help further understanding this, or have any questions, please contact us at Westside Baptist Church.  One of our ministers or elders will gladly get back in touch with you promptly.  Remember that God does love you, and He wants to share that love with you. The Bible Says:

For throughout all their journeys, the cloud of the LORD was on the tabernacle by day, and there was fire in it by night, in the sight of all the house of Israel.  (Exodus 40:38, NASB)
