WESTSIDE WHISTLE: V. 3 I. 8
Are you going to be ready when the Lord calls?
“The heart of a missionary always guides the lost home to Christ”
BIBLE BYTE:
PSALM 96: 1 – 13: (A Call to Worship the LORD the Righteous Judge (A Song for Missionaries)) NASB
1 Sing to the LORD a new song;
Sing to the LORD, all the earth.
2 Sing to the LORD, bless His name;
Proclaim good tidings of His salvation from day to day.
3 Tell of His glory among the nations,
His wonderful deeds among all the peoples.
4 For great is the Lord and greatly to be praised;
He is to be feared above all gods.
5 For all the gods of the people are idols,
But the Lord made the heavens.
6 Splendor and majesty are before Him,
Strength and beauty are in His sanctuary.
7 Ascribe to the LORD, O families of the people,
Ascribe to the LORD glory and strength.
8 Ascribe to the LORD the glory of His name;
Bring an offering and come into His courts.
9 Worship the LORD in holy attire;
Tremble before Him, all the earth.
10 Say among the nations, “The LORD reigns;
Indeed, the world is firmly established, it will not be moved;
He will judge the peoples with equity.”
11 Let the heavens be glad, and let the earth rejoice;
Let the sea roar, and all it contains;
12 Let the field exult, and all that is in it
Then all the trees of the forest will sing for joy
13 Before the LORD, for He is coming,
For He is coming to judge the earth
He will judge the world in righteousness
And the peoples in His faithfulness.

GREATER THINGS MAKE A BIG DIFFERENCE WITH LITTLE STEPS:
Wednesday evenings, Westside Baptist is doing “GREATER THINGS” in our community. What are you doing Wednesday evenings? We are meeting at the Clarity Solutions Center located at 116 E. Memorial Drive in E-Town starting at 6:30 pm. We always have a time of prayer and then community service work to follow. The little projects and tasks we are performing to help the Clarity Center are making a difference for those that come there seeking assistance. We may not be able to move mountains, but every job we do to improve things for others is a blessing for both the recipient and the worker at the same time. We all have many talents and skills, so why not join us Wednesday evening and user your gifts God blessed you with for the betterment of our community. We hope to see you there.
SPECIAL HOME BIBLE FELLOWSHIP THIS SUNDAY EVENING:
This coming Sunday evening the Winds will be joining us as they take a rest from the missionary work in Asia. We encourage you to come join us this Sunday evening as we are blessed by being able to have the Winds join us. As a gift to help them while they are here we will be taking up a special love offering for them this coming Sunday morning. If you are not able to make it Sunday night, we do ask that you please continue to pray for the Winds and their missionary work that they are doing.
HOME BIBLE FELLOWSHIP:
We have now started our newest Home BIBLE Fellowship Study entitled “The Holiness of GOD” written by R. C. Sproul. We are meeting at the home of Jim and Barbara Eastridge at 6:00 PM. We encourage all our members and of course your friends and guest to feel free to join us during any of the Home BIBLE Fellowship study nights. There is always a time of fellowship, a time of prayer, a time of study, and time to praise God. We hope to see you there.
WE NEED YOUR HELP:
Now that spring is here, we at Westside Baptist are kicking off our evangelism efforts a new. We need your help though! How you can help us comes in many ways; the following is just a sample of the ways you can help us out. 1. PRAYER 2. Supply us with the names of people and their contact information (street address and phone numbers) 3. Help write letters or postcards to visitors and guests 4. Participate in making visits with contacts; do not worry, you will not be making this by yourself and you do not have any books to read or materials to memorize. God will give you the words to say as other pray over you in your work to share the gospel. Finally, if you have any ideas on how to let people know about our church; please share them with your elders and pastor. There are no bad ideas if it will help share the word of God.

IN CLOSING
We may not all be called into the field to be missionaries in our state, across this great nation, or halfway around the world; but many people are willing and doing so each day all in the hope to just change the life of one more lost soul. We are all commanded to be missionaries in a way when God commanded us to go and share the gospel. We can do this by talking and testifying to those we work with, with our neighbors, and time spent with family as well. You can even share the story of Jesus to the stranger across from you when you are filling your car with gas or waiting in line to buy that latest new fangled gadget that you cannot live without that just went on sale. Even ordering your lunch at the fast food restaurant is a great opportunity to be like a missionary and share the gospel. Just by talking to someone you never met opens the chance to share your love of God and how He has affected your life. Many of our missionaries are taking opportunities like these and others to share the truth about Jesus; it is just that they are often in a foreign land or area when they do it. So take the time in prayer to uplift our missionaries in your daily prayers and who knows, you might even hear God calling you to do the work of being one of his messengers as a missionary.
Serving Our Savior,
Robert Blair,
Elder, Westside Baptist Church
