WESTSIDE WHISTLE: V. 3 I. 9
Are you going to be rea dy when the Lord calls?

“The greatest gift you can ever give your mot her is giving your life over to the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit.”
BIBLE BYTE:
MATT 20: 20 – 27: A Mother’s Request (NASB)
20. Then the mother of Zebedee’s sons came to Jesus with her sons and kneeling down, asked a favor of him.
21 “What is it you want?” he asked.
She said, “Grant that one of these two sons of mine may sit at your right and the other at your left in your kingdom.”
22 “You don’t know what you are asking,” Jesus said to them, “Can you drink the cup I am going to drink?”
“We can,” they answered.
23 Jesus said to them, “You will indeed drink from my cup, but to sit at my right or left is not for me to grant. These places belong to those for whom they have been prepared by my Father.”
24 When the ten heard about this, they were indignant with the two brothers.
25 Jesus called them together and said, “You know that the rules of the Gentiles lord it over them, and their high officials exercise authority over them. 26 Not so with you. Instead, whoever wants to become great among you must be your servant, 27 and whenever wants to be first must be your slave – 28 just as the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many.”

The little projects and tasks we are performing to help the Clarity Center are making a difference for those that come there seeking assistance. We may not be able to move mountains, but every job we do to improve things for others is a blessing for both the recipient and the worker at the same time. We all have many talents and skills, so why not join us Wednesday evening and user your gifts God blessed you with for the betterment of our community. We hope to see you there.
HOME BIBLE FELLOWSHIP:

WE NEED YOUR HELP:
Now that spring is here, we at Westside Baptist are kicking off our evangelism efforts a new. We need your help though! How you can help us comes in many ways; the following is just a sample of the ways you can help us out. 1. PRAYER 2. Supply us with the names of people and their contact information (street address and phone numbers) 3. Help write letters or postcards to visitors and guests 4. Participate in making visits with contacts; do not worry, you will not be making this by yourself and you do not have any books to read or materials to memorize. God will give you the words to say as other pray over you in your work to share the gospel. Finally, if you have any ideas on how to let people know about our church; please share them with your elders and pastor. There are no bad ideas if it will help share the word of God.

IN CLOSING:
As we celebrate our mothers this coming Sunday, the best gift that you can give her is the knowledge that you are saved, accepted Christ as your savior and are willing to serve Him even if that means you must make scarifies that cause you to get out of your comfort zone all to benefit the kingdom of God. This may even mean that you might fall out of favor with other family members that have never accepted Jesus, cause to you to rethink your employment situation, possible alter personal relationships; but then again it might open new doors to stronger family bonds, greater understanding of what you truly need in your life, and greater personal growth. None of this can occur if you are unwilling to open your life, and soul to God. Many mothers have had saddened and broken heart when they have lost children that they knew have never accept and completely rejected Jesus Christ into their lives. It is said that there is no stronger love than that of your mother, but this is not so the strongest love is the love that God has for you, your family, friends, coworkers, and even me. He openly and willingly wants to share this love with you, but you must first be willing to accept His love and that starts by accepting Jesus as your Savior so you can be blessed with life here on earth and everlasting life in heaven. If you are unwilling to do this, then the consequences are truly dire and would break any mother’s heart. So open your heart to Jesus and give your mother a wonderful gift this mother’s day; the knowledge of you salvation through Jesus Christ.
Serving Our Savior,
Robert Blair,
Elder, Westside Baptist Church
