A Partial Sermon... (Story of Joseph #2)
Joseph was a young man who was betrayed by his brothers and sold as a slave. He wound up second in command of all Egypt, and literally won the wealth of the world for Pharaoh. At the same time he provided security and prosperity for his own family, the fledgling nation of Israel. As this story begins in Genesis 37, tension sets the stage. Jacob loves Joseph more than his other sons, and makes it clearly evident. Joseph's brothers thus hate him, and cannot even speak to him on friendly terms. What exactly is partiality? Is God not partial? How should a Christian respond to partiality?
